Embracing the Future: Practising Open Science Today – Third Edition

The Bibliometrics and Databases Office at the University of Ferrara is organising the third edition of the training event dedicated to Open Science, ‘Embracing the Future: Practising Open Science Today’. The course will take place on 16 September 2026 in the Aula Magna of the Department of Economics and Management, and awards 3 credits for cross-disciplinary training.

The event is primarily aimed at PhD students (as well as academic staff and administrative and technical staff).

It will be possible to attend either in person or via livestream.

The QR code for registration can be found on the poster: the deadline for registration is Thursday 10 September.

Please note: to receive the credits, PhD students must register and indicate whether they wish to attend in person or online.

As the lecture theatre’s capacity is smaller than in previous editions, 25 places will be reserved for PhD students attending in person, whilst the remainder may follow the session via the link they will receive the day before the event.

Based on feedback received via last year’s satisfaction survey, in which international PhD students reported difficulties due to the language barrier, and in order to encourage participation and prevent exclusion due to language barriers, a simultaneous translation service with English subtitles has been arranged. This will be available only during the live stream on the University’s YouTube channel (which is also open to unregistered viewers) thanks to the support of the Multimedia Services Office. However, to earn credits, you will need to join the event via the Meet link that will be sent to those who have registered.
