ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES
The course will focus on acquiring specific written and oral skills:
- English for academic writing: characteristics and genres
- abstracts in academic writing: types of abstracts and structure
- writing paragraphs: topic sentences and supporting sentences
- from paragraphs to essays
- quoting, rephrasing and writing conclusions
- how to present a report or poster
- conducting research in English: tools and methodology of Digital Humanities
- linguistic resources for research
