Training activities 2026

The course, organised by the Doctorate in Human Sciences (SUM) for all curricula, consists of a series of seminars focusing on the forms that the English language takes in different academic fields. The IUSS offers Ph.D. students enrolled in doctoral programs based in Ferrara the opportunity to take the Oxford Test of English (OTE) certification exam. Developed by Oxford University Press, the Oxford Test of English (OTE) is the only English language assessment test supported and certified by the University of Oxford.

This year the University of Ferrara will once again host the local selection for FameLab 2026, the international science communication talent show. The event will be held in Ferrara on the morning of Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Laboratorio Aperto (Former Teatro Verdi).

The University of Ferrara (UniFe) offers a specialised interdisciplinary course on ‘Management of the research output catalogue / Open science in practice’ for PhD students, with the aim of providing guidance on the proper archiving and promotion of scientific work. The course is scheduled for 2026, with sessions on 23 June or 6 October, and awards 2 Credits.

This training course is delivered by experts in the field from the Italian Reproducibility Network (ITRN), of which our University is an institutional member. There will be a single session in English on 25 June.

The Bibliometrics and Databases Office at the University of Ferrara is organising the third edition of the training event dedicated to Open Science, ‘Embracing the Future: Practising Open Science Today’. The course will take place on 16 September 2026 in the Aula Magna of the Department of Economics and Management, and awards 3 credits for cross-disciplinary training.
