Corsi gratuiti di lingua inglese, effettuati da docenti madrelingua altamente qualificati suddivisi in B1, B2 e C1, della durata di 21 ore.

Cicli di lezioni a carattere pratico, con un attivo coinvolgimento degli allievi e con il fine principale di fornire le competenze necessarie per seguire o tenere conferenze in lingua inglese.

Le lezioni previste dalla seconda settimana di marzo si svolgeranno in modalità mista, presenza e streaming, secondo modalità che consentono:

• Interazione tra docenti e studenti;
• Prove di ascolto e parlato;
• Condivisione delle risorse nello stream della classe, e possibilità di apportare correzioni;
• Creazione di gruppi di attività;
• Creazione di un archivio di materiali che gli studenti possono utilizzare per ulteriore autoapprendimento.

 L'assegnazione dei 5 crediti per formazione trasversale è subordinata al raggiungimento di almeno il 75% della frequenza del corso.

Superamento del test

In collaborazione con il Centro Linguistico d'Ateneo, lo IUSS offre a tutte/tutti le/i dottorande/dottorandi di acquisire la certificazione Oxford Test Of English.

Potrete sostenere il test per raggiungere il livello B1, B2 o C1. La certificazione rilasciata non ha data di scadenza ed è accetta da moltissime istituzioni sia in Italia che all’estero.

Il test è diviso in quattro moduli: Speaking, Listening, Reading e Writing.
Le parti di Reading e Listening sono “computer adaptive”, adattano la difficoltà delle domande alle risposte che vengono date, il che rende OTE un test completamente personalizzato e anche più breve e più preciso nella valutazione del livello B1, B2, C1. Le attività contenute nelle parti di Speaking e Writing sono randomizzate. Ogni test è quindi un’esperienza individuale e tarata sulle specifiche capacità di chi fa il test.

Il CLA offre un corso di preparazione alla certificazione OTE di livello B1, B2 e C1 in auto apprendimento di cui potrete usufruire al momento dell'iscrizione.

All'ottenimento della certificazione, vengono assegnati 5 crediti trasversali.

2. Public speaking
3. Representing the scientific community in the age of new media

If you do very relevant research, but no one understands it, is it truly relevant?

Communication is a fundamental skill for people in research, both within and outside the Academic environment. The scientific community is widespread, and every researcher builds on the advancements that others made, which scientific literature and conferences allow to know.
At the same time, research is meant to have an impact on society, which can only happen if applicable scientific discoveries can move from those who achieved them to those who can put them into practice, and if researchers manage to stay a reference point for policy makers, organization and the public when talking about innovation. 
At last, every researcher is also a future innovation worker, who may develop his or her career inside the Academic track, outside of it, or in between. Being able not only to communicate the results of research, but also the role and relevance of trained researchers as workers in a knowledge society, with their peculiar skillset and potential to transfer, is crucial to support each researcher’s career management capacity.
For those reasons, IUSS is providing support for PhD students who want to develop their communication skills, for research and for their professional development, with a program in three steps, following the unfolding of the PhD experience from first to third year.
