Ph.D. Fellowship

The Ph.D. program, normatively speaking, is a course of study, and not a job.

For this reason, the PhD student does not receive a salary, but a fellowship.
As such, pursuant to Article 6 of Law No. 398 of 30/11/1989, it cannot be combined with other fellowships for any reason conferred except with those granted by national or foreign institutions useful for integrating, with stays abroad, the training or research activity of the fellows.

The amount of the fellowship for attendance at Ph.D. programs is determined at €16,243.00 gross of social security charges due by the recipient (d.m. 247 of 23/02/2022)

Monthly reports on fellowship payments are made available online, a few days before the payment is made. They can be viewed, along with the annual summary of certifications for the Inps Separate Management Fund, by logging in with your username to the Electronic Salary Slip Publication Area. When a salary slip or other document is published, an email from stipendi@unife.it will alert interested parties to the presence of a new document available for consultation, and a link will provide direct access to view and download it. The email is sent to the inbox issued along with the password by the Helpdesk and Administration Services Unit. The system guarantees absolute confidentiality in accessing the data.

The fellowship is subject to a 50% increase for periods of study and research abroad; the increase is calculated per day.

In addition to the fellowship, a research budget of 10 percent of the fellowship amount is available to PhD students from funds managed at the departmental level.
