Graduate Studies and IUSS-Ferrara 1391

IUSS-Ferrara 1391 has as a main goal to coordinate and promote the international dimension of  the doctoral programs at the University of Ferrara.

The objectives , structure, and working of the Institute are laid out in the Regulations of IUSS-Ferrara 1391.

 The Institute has been entrusted with the organization of a Residential College whose role is to act as a gathering center for the graduate students, thus facilitating the interaction and exchange with other universities in Italy and abroad.

Each year the Institute will make available Scholarships for International Students.

IUSS-Ferrara 1391 provides mobility fellowships, with the aim of integrating the research work for doctoral thesis with a stage abroad, in the framework of jointly supervised doctoral thesis and/or international collaborations among universities. IUSS-Ferrara 1391 has several agreements with foreign and International institutions, such as with CERN, OSUCCC and MIT.

The program Copernicus Visiting Scientists has the aim of attracting in Ferrara distinguished international scholars and researchers, for providing an international faculty to the doctorate courses.

For better organization of the academic programs and utilization of the available resources, three macro-areas have been designated to oversee the doctoral programs of the "Ateneo":

 

To follow its proposed objectives, the Institute coordinates educational events with the academic macro-areas and promotes interdisciplinary cultural and scientific activities, devoted to the graduate students.

The working of the doctoral programs is laid out in the Regulations for the Research Doctoral Programs of the University of Ferrara.

Activities of the doctorate programs are monitored by the University Evalutation Committee and by the Scientific Comittee.
